This new comedy series uses the mother's point of view to throw light on the life of a middle class family in the Midwest.
The show focuses on the life of the Heck family in a suburb of New York and is narrated by Frankie, a dedicated, but tired-mother who works at a local car dealership and volunteers for school functions. Father Mike works in a quarry and takes a more relaxed approach to most things, but Frankie backups with force when necessary. Axl's eldest son, a sarcastic, sullen high school student, spends much of his time sleeping and wandering around the house shirtless.
Geeky, lanky, strong ties Sue is trying to navigate their way through high school, join the cool crowd, and avoid attack Axl endless jokes, none of which makes it very successfully. Brick youngest son is in elementary school and is the academic in the family, but suffers from social anxiety as burdensome and has a strange habit of repeating words that I said back to himself in a whisper.
